Let’s Motor! is a fine and gross motor skill development center where children are engaged in fun activities and use “kid approved” equipment to build their skills! We offer classes for children ages 1 to 12 that are grouped by age and ability so that each child has the best possible experience!

  • electronic communication devices
  • verbal prompts

Each week the children are engaged in fine motor activities that may include arts and crafts, fun with food by constructing a marshmallow house, making a fruit salad, or painting something to include in our murals. They learn to grasp, throw, improve strength, accuracy, use a pincher grasp, improve their ability to manipulate small objects, hold and use utensils, tools, and writing instruments, and cut with scissors, all while having fun!

Following the fine motor fun, the children are engaged in developmentally appropriate stretching/body awareness activities and yoga. They stretch and bend and play games to get their bodies ready to move.

Then, it is on to the equipment and gross motor activities. The children climb, throw, balance, jump and tumble, run, ride scooters, and much, much more! Children improve their hand-eye coordination and balance, and improve their strength, accuracy, and motor planning.

In addition to developing and improving fine and gross motor skills, the children create relationships with peers and staff through participating in class and learn how to interact with others more effectively.

We also offer a Social Skills Class for children 5 to 9 years of age. The children enrolled improve over-all expressive and receptive language skills as well as learn and use social pragmatics, improve listening skills, express their feelings appropriately, respond to others’ feelings appropriately, engage in conversations, learn to scan and process different encounters so that they may utilize the appropriate skills for each setting. The curriculum for this class is planned for the children enrolled and the skills that they need to improve to become successful social butterflies!
